Cheryl Cole Is Home from the Hospital

Cheryl Cole got to go home this morning! The “Fight for This Love” singer has been cooped up in the hospital for the last 2 weeks while battling malaria, but today she’s back in her home in South England. Yay!

A close friend of the star told the Mail Online website: “Cheryl’s at home now. She left the clinic early today.”

After being rushed to a London hospital two weeks ago when she collapsed during a photo shoot, the 27-year-old beauty was transferred from intensive care at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases at University College London, last Friday and moved to a private clinic.

During her stay in hospital, Cheryl only allowed her mother Joan Callaghan and rumored boyfriend Derek Hough to see her. She has had to cancel her forthcoming commitments with UK TV talent show The X Factor, in which she is a judge, as well as performances at the V Festival in August.

Although she is still unwell, it is thought Cheryl wants to get back to work as soon as possible. Her boss on The X Factor Simon Cowell said earlier this week: “I had a text from her. She says she is better and feeling perky. She does want to come back to work but I need to talk to her about when that’s going to be.”

Cheryl is believed to have contracted malaria while holidaying with Dancing with the Stars dancer Derek, 25, in Tanzania. He took her there in a bid to get away from the stress she is going through as she continues divorce proceedings with estranged soccer player husband Ashley Cole.
